What does it do?
The Sonic Nausea Device is a small electronic acoustic-generating device which can really turn one's stomach. It generates a unique combination of high-pressure sound waves which can lead most in its vicinity to:
- Rapid queasiness
- Headaches
- Intense irritation
- Sweating
- Imbalance
- Nausea
Its sound wave characteristics make directional source determination difficult. This is the latest version Sonic Nausea, featuring an enhanced custom-built transducer which provides triple the pressurized output of the previous version.
How Long does the Battery Last?
Powered by one 9-volt battery (included), which can power the unit for up to 100 hours of continuous use. Each unit can cover one average size room.
Government Development:
The inspiration for this device stemmed from the LRAD - Long-Range Acoustic Device. [See images of the two larger devices in the image bank.] The LRAD produces a 30 degree cone of audible sound in frequencies within the human hearing spectrum (20 Hz – 20 kHz). An LRAD was used by the crew of the cruise ship Seabourn Spirit in 2005 to deter pirates who chased and attacked the ship. More commonly this device and others of similar design have been used to disperse protesters and rioters in crowd control effort (see below).
