Kyle Gahagan’s interest in knifemaking began when he was just ten years old, experimenting with tools and learning from experienced makers. At twenty, he joined the United States Army and served with the 1st Ranger Battalion, completing two tours in Afghanistan and two tours in Iraq.
After leaving the military and settling with his family in North Carolina, Kyle returned to the craft that first captured his attention. What began in a garage grew into Gahagan Customs—a family business dedicated to creating dependable knives with the end user always in mind.
Kyle earned his ABS Journeyman Smith rating in 2015, appeared on Forged in Fire in 2016, and has had his work featured in leading knife publications. His designs combine the perspective of a veteran, outdoorsman, craftsman, and lifelong student of the blade.

From lightweight EDC blades and secure ring-knife designs to hunting and field-processing tools, each model is created around a specific purpose. Premium steels, durable handle materials, secure retention sheaths, and practical ergonomics come together in knives made to perform beyond the workbench.
Gahagan Customs was built on more than steel and craftsmanship. Faith, family, service, and a commitment to excellence remain central to the company’s work.
The Gahagan family views the business as an opportunity to serve others, support fellow veterans, share the craft of knifemaking, and create products worthy of the people who depend on them.
